Hi,
I must be missing something but I can't seem to see a way to add a tracking number in packing partner without marking it as despatched. Is it possible?
Thanks,
Michael

There isn't a way to just add tracking numbers, because if you are adding a tracking number, the order must be ready to despatch.

Hi Andrew,
As you said "the order must be ready to despatch." If we were to scan the barcode at the time of packing, as we would like to do, then the item is ready to be despatched, but it still hasn't been despatched.
If we were to scan as we package we would no longer be able to easily check the number of items sent that day in packing partner and check this against what we have entered in to the Royal Mail oba site as we do now.
There is also the possibility that for some reason Royal Mail may not collect our mail that day ( it has happened due to weather/new person on collection route etc ) and our customer would have received a despatch email if we where to have scanned the item.
I realise we could scan the barcode after the items have actually been despatched but this would incur extra time for us as apposed to inputting a barcode whilst packing especially as not all our items are sent tracked.
If you feel this would also be handy for some of your other users it would be great to have it implemented. No problem if not - it would just make our routine easier.
Thanks,
Michael

Hello Michael
Thanks for the explanation.
It shouldn't be too much to add the option just to enter tracking numbers on their own.
I will look into it for the next release, which is due for the autumn.

I'm in the same position.
Orders are not automatically classed/advertised as tracked, and most are only done so on various formulae and on a case-by-case basis after a sale. This means that once sales are imported, I go through them and add tracking details to those that need it, and *then* print out lables and pack goods. Not least because the lable changes on whether it's tracked or not (48 or 48 Signed or SD PPI), so I can't print before checking/adding tracking.
If adding tracking then stops me printing out the lable, that's annoying, and would mean having to manually alter shipping services (which may have to be done anyway depending on whether I can automate a PPI image change based on tracking field content), then print, then go back over the stuff to add in tracking details to the changed orders.
