Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

Sorry, just a quick mention whilst I'm packing.

We pack around 200+ items a day, of which probably 5% are recorded. Instead of scanning the barcode and entering it once marked shipped - an option at the printed stage to add tracking id would be much quicker for us. Saves searching through the sales at the end and digging back out all the recorded items to assign the barcode.

Just a thought.

Again, great software!

Many thanks

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

I'm not quite sure what you mean, you don't need to do any searching to find orders.

If you print an ID then you just have to scan the ID and barcode when you mark as shipped, see here: http://aimcosoftware.co.uk/v3help/pages … ipped.html

Alternatively, if you want to use the ID to mark shipped, there is now a feature to do that, see here: http://aimcosoftware.co.uk/v3help/pages … .html#scan records as shipped

You may need to update the program from the link above (Latest update for subscribers) to have this feature.

Perfect, I've done as you said and put a barcode on the label of the record id, scan this, then scan the tracking barcode - much easier, thanks!

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

Hi, which barcode scanner do you use, I have one that I purchased a while ago from ebay but it looks like there may be an issue with it, on our website all of our order numbers have "#" in front e.g. #1234 but my scanner converts the # into £ so it then reads £1234 so having problems scanning the barcode.
Just wondering which scanner would work best, I have a little booklet for my current scanner which contains a lot of barcodes for adjusting the settings but not sure what does what?

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

Hi,

We got ours from ebay which came with a small book and it doesn't say what make or were its from etc. But we scanned the Output Mode-serial. 000601. Which works for us. But yours might be a different scanner.

Cheers

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

Hi James, the model number on my scanner is LS-8860

would you happen to know how to change the scanner from scanning the £ to a # or to miss out the # altogether?

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

Hi,

Sorry unfortunately I don't no the answer to that. Ours has a set up menu etc. Couldn't you have a word with your website provider and ask if there is a way to remove the # before the number etc.? or is this something you have put on manually.

Cheers

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

well I was going to ask what barcode scanner you have but I just read that you are not sure on that..

I think I may have to buy a better one but not sure which one? There are so many available and vary in price soooooo much..

Does anyone have any suggestions?

regards,
Tony

Re: Scan recorded barcode onto sale at printed page

Hi,

I've just had a look through the emails and found the link for the barcode we purchased.

But we have only purchased this one as a test to check it does everything we needed. This works for us but it might not fit everybodies needs.
